Randall Donald: Sarge NVIDIA Stuffs

Today I build 2.6.8 modules for sarge, both 1.0.7174 and 1.0.7676 versions. Along with that I built 1.0.7676 for sarge as well.

All can fetched via apt from:

deb http://people.debian.org/~rdonald/nvidia stable/i386/

deb http://people.debian.org/~rdonald/nvidia stable/all/

deb http://people.debian.org/~rdonald/nvidia modules-stable/i386/

BTW, I have no idea if they work.

Randall Donald: libglx.so

So I'm now adding the diversion for libglx.so so the drivers will work with the newer xorg and will soon upload new versions due to that fix.

Randall Donald: New Job

Tomorrow I start work at Uniclear / Push72. I actually didn't think I'd be doing another computer job now that I've moved to the Parksville area but there you have it. They seem like really nice people and a nice place to work.

Randall Donald: New car

Today my wife and I bought a 1995 Honda Accord. It the first car for both of us. Overall I'm happy with it except for a few minor issues and the seller seems to be a reputable kind of guy. I'm sure I hear a complaint or two when my wife drives it to work tomorrow. Here's hoping it works out.

John Goerzen: A Joke

Overheard on #haskell today: Richard M. Stallman, Linus Torvalds, and Donald E. Knuth engage in a discussion on whose impact on the computerized world was the greatest. Stallman: "God told me I have programmed the best editor in the world!" Torvalds: "Well, God told *me* that I have programmed the best operating system in the world!" Knuth: "Wait, wait - I never said that."

Randall Donald: Tackling Bugs

I've been cleaning up many of my bug reports this week. A new upload will be happening soon along with legacy packages. I'm also getting an amd64 system so more attention will be paid to that side. The libGL.so issue is still a pain in the ass. I thought I had it figured out but it wouldn't upgrade cleanly so back to the drawing board. And I'll finally be uploading 2.6 modules. The status of the 2.4 ones is still undecided.
